  Situations still vacant
Secretary Temp/Acting secretary from rehab staff – Jill Beaumont will help future secretary with admin when needed.

Secretarial duties will be provided by Jill for the time being until the vacancy is filled with ongoing support if needed.

  Group Name
Due to the change in service provision and to include new patients the name of the group was changed to BARNSLEYHEALTH SUPPORT GROUP. This brings the web site name in line with the group name.
  Future Meetings
It was agreed that all future meetings would be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 12:00 noon in the Sprinters bar with light refreshments provided from group funds.
The group felt that more people would like to attend but thought that by doing so they would be given ‘jobs’.  It was stressed during the meeting that no-one is under any pressure to take on anything they do not wish to do, but that feed back from clients was needed and welcomed by all to help improve and develop the service.
It was agreed that an A.G.M. would be conducted each year and widespread invitations given to ALL group patrons.
Once the format of the group has been decided it was suggested that speakers could be invited to attend meetings and maybe a representative from the PCT to answer any questions and address any issues people have.

  Profile
Help is needed to raise the profile of the group.  Peter to attend ‘Heart 2 Heart’ event.  The event to be given a profile in the gym and registration forms made available for anyone who may wish to attend.
  Finances
During the last 12 months Colin reported that takings had risen from around £250 a week to around £400 a week.  Giving the group a total fund of just under £24,000.
Peter stressed there are no current plans to increase the cost of the sessions.

  Events
Any suggestions for future events are welcome from all.  Put your suggestion forward please by using the suggestion box provided or ask someone on the committee to present it on your behalf.
During May, current clients are being sponsored to cycle the equivalent of ‘Lands End to John O’Groats’ in aid of the British Heart Foundation whilst staff are to do the same but in aid of the Sheffield Kidney Research Foundation.  Other possible charities include Cystic fibrosis, any other suggestions welcome.

  Planned events include:
  Summed Do
Xmas Do
Golf tournament
Saturday 12th June - Hot Buffet
Saturday 4th December
Date to be arranged
  Eligibility
There has been some confusion between the long term exercise service and the exercise on prescription programme offered in partnership with BPL, Barnsley PCT and GP’s.
Peter confirmed that to be eligible to attend people had to have gone through formal Cardiac or Pulmonary rehabilitation, or be the partner of someone who has completed but that they must have permission from their GP first.

  Next Meeting
The next meeting is Tuesday 25th May, 12:00 in the Sprinters bars, Light refreshments provided.
